Alcohol Testing

NAVICUS' Alcohol Testing Services offers variety of methods to test for the presence of alcohol.  Alcohol Testing Services can be performed at the client site or in a controlled environment at a patient service center.  NAVICUS provides alcohol testing at more than 1000 patient service centers (PSCs) nationwide.

Saliva Alcohol Rapid Tests

When minutes count, NAVICUS' saliva alcohol rapid tests offer screening that is quick, reliable, and right. Saliva alcohol rapid tests provide on-site screening for alcohol following chain-of-custody protocol. NAVICUS performs saliva alcohol rapid tests in many of its patient service centers (PSCs) nationwide. Customers may also choose to perform tests in their own facilities.

The instant saliva alcohol test is performed on-site by trained professionals to obtain an immediate result. The saliva alcohol test used conforms to the Department of Transportation (DOT) model specifications for screening devices that measure alcohol in bodily fluids. In the event that a positive screen is obtained with the instant test, a DOT required breath alcohol confirmation can be performed at one of our DOT certified Breath Analysis Test (BAT) locations. Navicus can customize a saliva alcohol testing program to meet your postaccident, random, or preemployment testing needs.

Breath Analysis Tests

Evidentary Breath Tests (EBTs) and Alcohol Saliva Devices (ASDs) are on the NHTSA conforming products lists (CPL) for evidential and non-evidential devices. EBTs and ASD are the only devices you are allowed to use to conduct alcohol screening tests under 49 CFR Part 40. You may use an ASD that is on the NHTSA CPL for DOT alcohol tests only if there are instructions for its use in this part. An ASD can be used only for screening tests for alcohol, and may not be used for confirmation tests.

NAVICUS offers BAT services at thousands of locations nationwide.  All BAT technician providers are confirmed certified by NAVICUS so you know you are getting compliant BAT services.   We can also supply you with all forms and required procedures for conducting alcohol testing for the Federally regulated transportation industry.
