Competency

Competency modeling is the detailed documentation of the work activities, behaviors, skills, abilities and personal characteristics required to perform successfully in any given job. In addition, it defines the tools and equipment necessary to drive performance.  Navicus uses job analysis information to develop valid and reliable competency models (tests) that accurately measure these behaviors and skills. The Navicus job analysis process considers the broad context of how an individual contributes to the achievement of organizational strategies and business goals.  Navicus competency models can withstand the most rigorous scrutiny and are legally defensible when used for administrative decision-making.  Valid, reliable, defensible models are critical, since competency models provide the foundation for most human capital programs including, employee selection systems, licensing or certification, training and development, compensation, promotion, and much more.
